Description

Turkeys, some wearing Pilgrim hats, have big eyes that look a little worried. They’re brown and gold, with green, orange and white patches here and there. Solid brown shoulder straps and trim on the large pockets; oyster colored narrow bias binding for the hemline and bib edges.

This pattern was designed by the Bureau of Human Nutrition and Home Economics of the US Department of Agriculture in the 1940s. It provides full coverage but uses fabric wisely. It features what I consider clever adjustability provided by a three-point attachment of brown macrame cord, so that you can accommodate a huge range of waists and body lengths.

From an XL pattern. The smallest waist circumference would be 32”. 82” of cord so waist could go a lot bigger! Shoulder to front hemline is 39”. Skirt length at side is 18.5”.

Apron 186 is this style in a different size and using different fabric.
