Description
Brightly colored pictures of pasta, herbs and other Italian restaurant décor on the main fabric of this full bib apron might inspire your own efforts. Two new (unused) fabrics as well as a repurposed white sheet used in small portions of lining comprise this 1950s style garment The black background holds realistic pictures of various pastas, olive branches, oil, tomatoes, rosemary and other herbs, maps of Italy, recipes (unfortunately partially covered with other design elements!) and checkerboards (tablecloths? napkins?).
Yellow and white gingham contrast at the upper front shoulder and the pockets, which are three level curves bound in red bias, add to the traditional café look. These gingham areas are lined with fabric from a white sheet for opacity and sturdiness.
There are tiny gingham yo-yos centered with red buttons just above the pockets at the waistline. The modified H back is secured with two red buttons for easier take-off when you’re ready to remove the apron. The waistline ties are quite long so you could tie them in front if you’d like. The wide, deep neckline requires a rather buxom chest and wide shoulders so please consider this. There are no raw edges anywhere helping this apron last longer through laundering and work.
The apron is U.S. women’s size Large, to fit 18 to 20 and possibly a range smaller or larger. It is slightly too big for the dress form modeling it. Dress form measurements are 39½” (100cm) bust, 32” (91cm) waist and 44” (112cm) hips. GARMENT measurements are 43“ (109cm) waist including a 4” (10cm) gap created by the yoke and straps, and excluding the 44“ long ties, and skirt length 22“ (56cm) at the side.
Suggested care is gentle machine or hand wash in cool or warm water, and air dry or machine dry gentle,
