Description

A simple, easy to wear, sturdy yet flattering apron made of heavy 100% woven cotton canvas. It’s cut from a reproduction 1919 work apron pattern although shorter than the floor-length pattern decrees. There are shoulder buttons but the apron is easy to put on and take off leaving them fastened if you wish. The princess seams give your body the illusion of slimness, and the curves at the tops of the pockets send the eye upward. There are shaping darts at the side waistline which allow for a body that is rather large-hipped compared to the waist and bust. All internal seams are French style so there is no raveling, and as you see, all outer edges are bound in bias tape.

The putty fabric is new (not repurposed) and of course the gray bias tape is new also.

The apron is shown on a dress form with these measurements 39½” (101.5cm) bust, 32” (91cm) waist and 44” (112cm) hips. GARMENT measurements:  length from front shoulder to hemline 45” (114cm); waist ideally 36” (91 cm) but it’s rather forgiving; hips up to 46” (117cm) but also quite forgiving depending on how wide you will let the back opening become.

This apron is cut exactly the same as apron N134, which is in a gray fabric with khaki binding, and apron N1 in white and a longer length.

Suggested care:  hand or machine wash gentle with cool or cold water; line, rack or tumble dry on low. Color-preserving detergents like Woolite for Darks or Colorguard Cheer will prolong the life of the colors.
