Description
A sprightly, colorful full coverage apron in the style of the 1940s, in new 100% cotton fabrics of golden yellow stars on a swirly blue background, and assorted color dots on sunshine yellow, with golden yellow bias binding throughout. There’s a moderate sweetheart neckline. The highwaisted skirt has a scalloped hemline. The scalloped yoke is lined in yellow and white gingham. There are no raw edges anywhere. Everything is sewn in French seams or encased in bias. The apron has a single pocket, fastened with a button tab. With its buttoned back yoke, the apron is comfortable and stays in place as you move around.
This apron will fit a modern women’s size range of 12 to 16. The waist measures 33“ (84cm) excluding ties. The skirt is 17½“ (44cm) long from waistline to side hemline. As with most of my aprons, it’s shown on a dress form with these measurements 39½” (101.5cm) bust, 32” (91cm) waist and 44” (112cm) hips. The dress form is wearing only a thin cotton shirt and no skirt or jeans so consider how the apron would fit on your clothed body.
Suggested care is gentle machine or hand wash in cool or warm water, and air dry or machine dry low temperature. I recommend Color Guard Cheer or Woolite for Darks to preserve its rich colors.
Apron N184 is this style in different fabrics.
