Description

Loaded with ricrac. Made from new 100% cotton woven fabric that has a batik look but I presume is mechanically printed. Multi-petaled flowers in a rich scarlet red on pale yellow or ecru background, with washes of turquoise aqua here and there. I’ve sewn the fabric into a 1950s pattern that has numerous curved lines:  the outer yoke edges, the sweetheart neckline, the hemline and the double-curved-top pockets. There are double button accents in matching red and a darker turquoise on the pockets and below the neckline outer points. Turquoise rick rack echoes all the outer contours as well as the pocket upper edges. There are no raw edges as all construction is with French seams or bound in handmade bias tape. This will prevent raveling through the years from laundering or usage. Please see all five photos.

This apron will fit a modern women’s U.S. size range of at least 18 to 20, and possibly smaller or larger sizes. The waist measures 40“ (101.5cm) including the 5½” (14cm) gap produced by the H back, excluding ties. The skirt is 20¾“ (52.5cm) long from waistline to side hemline. As with most of my aprons, it’s shown on a dress form with these measurements 39½” (100cm) bust, 32” (91cm) waist and 44” (112cm) hips. This apron is somewhat too big for the dress form. It’s long waisted and large-around-the waist for the form. The dress form is wearing only a thin cotton shirt and no skirt or jeans so consider how the apron would fit on your clothed body.

Suggested care is gentle machine or hand wash in cool or warm water, and air dry or machine dry low temperature. I recommend Color Guard Cheer or Woolite for Darks to preserve its rich colors.

Please see my store policies for my sizing, reasons to wear aprons, and return policy.
