Description

Apron 53 is a fresh-looking multicolor 100% cotton plaid from a man’s repurposed shirt. The plaid’s clear colors are red, blue and gold on a white background. This is a 1940s pattern utilizing five skirt gores, a pieced rectangular bib with an H back, the original shirt pocket, a sweetheart neckline in front, and edges bound with cadet blue bias from new fabric. The pattern is size Medium and I believe it’s true to modern sizing:  12-16. The waistband is 38″ around excluding ties, and the skirt is 20″ long.  Photographed on a size 14 dress form.
