Description

A lightweight, light aqua or teal woven cotton apron in a 1940s style with a sweetheart neckline, dart-fitted bodice, H back, A line skirt and two heart-shaped pockets. The front is embellished with aqua/teal rickrack and two lined heart-shaped pockets edged in the same rickrack. The shoulder tabs  fasten with four ethereally colored buttons. You can leave these fastened, or unfasten them for apron removal.

All garment edges are bound in aqua/teal handmade bias tape, are French seamed, or are serged:  there are no raw edges anywhere so this apron should stay with you through numerous launderings and protect your clothes from any number of messy projects, all while flattering you.

The fabric is 100% cotton printed in a light aqua-turquoise moire or woodgrain pattern and climbing roses with large blooms and leaves on a white background. The weave is rather airy so the finished apron is almost featherweight on you, yet it gives full coverage. The bias binding and rickrack are more intense shades of aqua/teal. The apron measures 42” (106.5cm) long from shoulder to hemline. The waistline (with the back H’s legs hanging straight down, as shown in the back view photograph) measures 42” (106.5cm) around. The ties are 29” (74cm) long. This will fit U.S. women’s sizes 18-24 and possibly smaller or larger sizes.

As with most of my aprons, this is photographed on a dress form with these measurements: 39½” (101.5cm) bust, 32” (91cm) waist and 44” (112cm) hips. Please note your own body measurricrements to consider how the apron would fit on your body. This apron is slightly loose on the dress form.

Suggested care is gentle machine or hand wash in cool or warm water, and air dry or machine dry gentle, low temperature. I recommend Color Guard Cheer or Woolite for Darks to preserve colors.
